At KnowMe Tag™, your privacy isn’t just protected—it’s respected. We believe personal information should stay personal, and we’ve designed our product and processes to reflect that. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. What We Do

KnowMe Tag™ is a physical NFC tag that allows you to store and share information in two ways:

  • Off-Grid Mode: Data is stored locally on the tag’s chip. It does not connect to the internet, and we have no access to this information once the tag is in your hands.

  • Live Profile Mode: The tag links to a profile hosted on a private URL (e.g., via third-party platforms like Canva). KnowMe Tag™ does not host these profiles on a company database, and we do not track or collect data from these external links.

2. What Personal Data We May Handle

We only collect personal data in the following cases:

  • Tag Programming Service: If you ask us to programme your tag in-house, we temporarily collect the information you provide (e.g., emergency contacts, medical notes) for the sole purpose of writing it to your KnowMe Tag™.

  • Customer Support & Orders: We retain your name, shipping address, and contact details to fulfil your order or respond to queries.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • We use your data only to fulfil your request (e.g., programming your tag, shipping your order, or replying to your message).

  • We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

  • We do not use your data for our own marketing unless you have explicitly opted in at checkout.

4. Data Retention

  • Programming Data: Any personal information provided for tag programming is deleted from our systems immediately after your tag is written and dispatched.

  • Support Queries: Contact form submissions or customer service queries may be retained for up to 6 months for support purposes.

  • Order Records: Transactional data is kept as required by Irish tax law.

5. Your Rights Under GDPR

6. Third-Party Links (Live Profiles)

If you choose to use the Live Profile mode via a third-party service (such as Canva), your data is subject to that provider's privacy policy. KnowMe Tag™ is not responsible for the security or data practices of these external platforms.

7. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse while it is in our temporary care.
